Safety & Compliance in Every Build

All of Sculpin Marine’s current boat offerings were expertly designed and dead-weighted by our naval architect and approved by the Marine Safety Center. Our streamlined build process contributes to our track record of on-time boat completions and seamless Coast Guard approvals.

  • Sister Vessel Approval Process: By “sistering” to an already approved design hull structure and general arrangement, your boat can skip stability testing. A Stability Letter will be issued by the Marine Safety Center (MSC) within 30 days of the final acceptance test.
  • Pre-Approved Electrical and Fuel System Plans: Plans specific to your boat are approved by MSC before your boat is complete which expedites final approvals.
  • Final Acceptance Test: Construction oversight is administered by Marine Safety Unit Portland and an on-trailer final acceptance test is conducted on-site at our shop.
  • Certificate of Inspection:  A New-to-Zone inspection is performed at your operating location by your local OCMI who will issue your Certificate of Inspection (COI).
